Who this is for. Adults and older teens in Southern Alberta who are living with brain fog, scattered attention, poor sleep or a short fuse; leaders, students and athletes who want an edge they can measure; and anyone who has bought a headband, an app or a light device and still cannot say whether it is doing anything.
The silent frustrations
They rarely show up on a form. You lose the thread halfway through a sentence you started with confidence. You are awake at an hour when the house is silent, and then heavy all day. Your thinking is clear at breakfast and thick by mid-afternoon. A busy room feels like every conversation is happening inside your head. You are quicker to snap than the person you remember being. You have tried the supplements, the apps, the early nights, and you still could not say, hand on heart, whether any of it is helping.
The problem is usually not a lack of effort. It is that nobody has ever measured what your brain is doing while you try. Guesswork is expensive. A map is not.
What a brain map shows
We record your brain's electrical activity from 19 standardized sites across the scalp and compare it, one frequency band at a time, against a normative database of people your age. The picture that comes back shows where your brain is over-working, where it is under-engaged, and how well its regions are coordinating with each other. Patterns that clients describe as "foggy," "wired," or "cannot switch off" often have a recognizable shape on the map.
A map is not a diagnosis and we will not hand you a label. It is an objective starting point: a way to understand yourself, choose your next steps wisely, and check later whether they worked.
What happens
Five steps, about four weeks, start to finish.
- Come in for 90 minutes. A short conversation about your goals and history, then the 19-channel recording with eyes open, eyes closed, and during a simple task. Painless and non-invasive; the cap only listens.
- Receive your written report. Your maps, what stands out, what it likely means for how you feel and function, and what we recommend, written for you rather than for another clinician. Usually ready within about a week.
- An hour with Dr. Daniel Zopoula. We go through your maps together, screen by screen, until the picture makes sense. You leave with a starter home practice matched to your map.
- An hour with Dr. Linda Walker. An online consultation with a specialist in optimal performance, therapy and training, turning your map into a practical plan for work, sport, study or daily life.
- A follow-up call at two to three weeks. Thirty minutes to hear how the practice is landing and adjust it. Plans improve when someone checks back.

Why Circle
No one within two hours of Lethbridge offers a clinician-read 19-channel brain map. Online "brain scan" services typically record from a consumer headband at home and read it on a video call; we record from 19 standardized sites in our office, compare against a normative database, and read the result with you in person. Most services give you one clinician; we give you two. Most send a document; we sit down with you twice and then call to see how it went.
Plainly
This is not a medical evaluation. We are not examining you and we are not diagnosing anything. A brain map describes what your brainwave activity is doing; it does not tell you what is "wrong" with you, and we will never pretend otherwise. No one can promise how you will feel in two weeks. What we can promise is that you will understand your own brain far better than you do today, and that your next steps will be chosen from your own readings rather than from a preset that was designed for everyone and no one. The people who gain the most treat the map as a beginning and then practise.
Who you are sitting down with
Dr. Daniel Zopoula, CCC, MACP, DMin, PsyD(c), is a Canadian Certified Counsellor who leads neurofeedback, biofeedback and brain training at Circle Psychology. He reads every map himself and walks through it with you in person. What he does not do: he does not sell devices, and he is not your physician. If something in your reading belongs with your doctor, he will tell you plainly and send you there.
Dr. Linda Walker specializes in optimal performance, therapy and training, and joins every Circle Brain Map by video.
What comes next
Circle Brain Shift is our eight-week one-on-one program: your map, neurofeedback, HRV biofeedback and light-based (photobiomodulation) training, one variable at a time, with a short before-and-after check each week, an exit map, and a written findings report with your home protocol. $4,495, with the full Circle Brain Map fee credited. Ask us at your results consult, or email hello@circlepsychology.ca.
Inner Circle is the month-to-month membership for anyone who has completed a Circle Brain Map: one 45-minute private check-in and re-measure each month, protocol adjustments, priority booking and between-visit support. $149 per month, renews automatically, cancel any time.

Questions
Is this a medical test? No. It is an educational and wellness assessment offered by a Canadian Certified Counsellor. It does not diagnose and it does not replace care from your physician or psychologist. If something in your reading belongs with your doctor, we will say so.
Will it hurt or affect my brain? No. The cap records; nothing is sent into the brain.
How do I prepare? Arrive with clean, dry hair and no product. Have your usual caffeine, take your usual medications, and get a normal night's sleep.
Is it covered by insurance? Many extended health plans reimburse counselling services. We provide a receipt; check your plan.
I have a seizure disorder or a recent head injury. Talk with your physician first and let us know at booking.
How long does the whole thing take? One 90-minute visit for the recording, your report about a week later, two one-hour consults in the following week or two, and a follow-up call two to three weeks after that. About four weeks start to finish.
I am in my seventies. Is this going to be too technical for me? No. The consults are in plain language, with the maps on screen in front of you, and you can bring a family member.
What if the map shows something concerning? A brain map is not a diagnostic test, so it cannot tell you that something is wrong. If a pattern looks like a question for your physician, we will say so clearly and help you take it to them.
What happens if I want to keep going? Most people continue into Circle Brain Shift, our eight-week program, with the full $1,195 credited, or join the Inner Circle for monthly check-ins. Neither is required.
Can I get a refund? Yes, in full, up to 48 hours before your recording appointment. After that, we have held the room and the clinician time for you.
